And no, I have no particular need or desire to use ubuntu persay, I just liked how easily it installed on my laptop so I figured I’d try it on my desktop as well. I dunno about that link on the wiki, that seems to be instructions for setting up software RAID. I’m not interested in a software raid, because I’ve had to do a full reinstall several times and having ht374 info on a hardware raid makes it easy to just re-access my existing raid setup raid 5 with 3 drives after an OS drive fails which has happened twice.
