Solaria operates a permanent research and training centre in Burkina Faso staffed by several full time employees. The Solaria team Burkina undertakes regular training sessions, demonstrations, and an aggressive research program testing the performance of various reflective materials, reducing the cost of the Petisos structure and introducing passive solar thermal devices into the solarian repertoire. In particular, the application of solar energy to fruit drying is well underway with positive results.

Following the construction of the first Petisos in Burkina Faso in June 2009, a month long training course completed the transfer of our technology and resulted in the inauguration of our permanent centre.
